Our First Family Camping Trip

Things We Didn't Like

  1. The Heat-This was the hottest weekend of the year so far. Wouldn't you know it? Saturday was 97 degrees.

  2. The Muddy Shower Floor-Overall, the bathrooms were pretty neat, but Saturday night it was a swamp in there. Mud everywhere. Gross.

  3. The Thing Walking Around Our Tent In the Middle of The Night-Whatever it was on Friday night--thanks. You totally freaked me out you little racooon, squirrel, deer, or psycho serial killer. My heart nearly beat out of my chest but I know I scared you when I turned on my Eddie Bauer micro headlamp! Coward!

  4. The Cleanup-Yeah, its all exciting packing to get there and set up your camp, but breaking it down is just a major PITA.

  5. Tangled fishing line

Things We Loved

  1. The Turtle-The boys found him crossing the road. He was a nice little guy and became our camp mascot. He had a great menu for a day---bananas and grapes. He lived in one of our baskets and stopped being scared about an hour into it. He was a feisty little guy. We hope he's made it back up that hill....

  2. The Pool-Again, 97 degrees. Pool=Good.

  3. The Woods-Fun to explore and nothing too scary.

  4. Time With Friends-We all liked being with our friends, adults and children alike.

  5. How Close It Was-http://www.campluray.com/

  6. S'mores and Hot Dogs

  7. Fishing and chopping up night crawlers for bait

  8. Electricity--man, do we LOVE electricity.
