Broadlands Halloween Parade

We hadn't been to this event since Connor was three or four years old but at the last minute on a beautiful day we decided to go. Palmer was a lobster and I quickly pulled together a crazy chef outfit for Connor complete with a toque.

Dinner!
In the pot you go!

Cook him up!

They were both obsessed with the big headed grim reaper.

I rocked my true self

Even lobster's love dippin dots!

The lobster had had enough by this point!

Halloweenville

The boys and I had a fun time today at this sweet little attraction run by Loudoun Habitat For Humanity.  In an empty storefront at the Villages of Leesburg it's an adorable "just a bit scary" experience for younger kids where you move in groups from space to space--each with something different and fun.  It was a bit to little for Connor but he was a great big brother and loved making it fun for Palmer.

Making potions
Shooting zombies
Hearing his fortune
Watching some scary silly pirates
And this face says it all!

Field Trip

Palmer and I had a fun time at Ticonderoga Farms with his pre-school class on a great field trip. It was a beautiful day and we took a hayride to the pumpkin patch, played on the huge slides and of course, hit the pillow bouncer a few times. Simple fall fun!

Homestead Farm

It was an absolutely beautiful fall day yesterday.  We've been in a trap lately of using Saturday for Connor's football and then Sunday to clean and shop and rest and get ready for the week.  Connor had a date with a friend to go to Ticonderoga Farms so Bob and I decided to take a ride with Palmer.

We were vaguely headed toward Point Of Rocks, Maryland because when I drove through there earlier in the week I saw a sign for a pumpkin farm.  However, at White's Ferry we decided to change our minds and do the ferry crossing---I hadn't EVER done it and Bob did it when he was a kid.  It was so cool and anachronistic.

Once we crossed the river we Yelped for pumpkins and found the very fantastic Homestead Farm.  We went to the pumpkin patch and picked out three to take home and picked an apple or four.  :)
I liked the farm.  It is a farm.  Its not an amusement park with slides and jumpers and stuff.  Don't get me wrong...that kind of place is fun too, but I'm more down with a farm being a farm.  It is super big and has a nice hayride.   Definitely on our regular list now and I don't think we'll be going to Wegmeyer's this year.

New Things

We tried some new things around here a few weekends ago.
Drawing pictures of boats.

Walking a dog!
