Red High Heels

Palmer's about to show us just how missing him feels....in his red high heels.

Face Off

Basketball ended last weekend with a whimper.  Connor's team lost.  They had a little ceremony afterward and here are some shots of his face during the awards.

Murder One

Two weekends ago we had the best time at a dinner party given by our friends, Randall and Sharon. It was a murder mystery dinner where all of the guests are assigned and play certain characters and act out a funeral dinner for the victim who had been shot in his restaurant. Bob played "Rocco", the mobster brother of the victim. I played "Tara Misu" is moll. It was fantastically fun but maybe, just maybe, two weeks later I'm still a bit hungover.

All of us in costume went to the neighbor's house at 10pm for a photo.  Imagine their horror when seeing this mob at their doorstep.
Tara and Rocco before dinner.  I'm in my real fur coat that I never wear.  But Tara would wear it!
Rocco being bad.
Our friends Andrew and Kristin playing paramours, Bo and Angel.
Rocco with a picture of his dead twin, Pepi.
Me and Mama, the widow, played by my friend Michelle to the absolute hilt.
This is our friend Randall playing a truly derange priest.  He was kind of frisky.  I understand that's not totally unusual.

Little Art Work

Every little bit of artwork that Connor did came into our house like a treasure...for the first few years. Then, slowly, you get less sentimental about the unrecognizable globs of paint or macaroni collages. Then, the second child comes and they are somehow in that shadow. Poor babies. Palmer has done a few cute things at daycare and here is one of them---along with a picture of him making it which they usually send along as well. I love that their smocks at daycare are big persons t-shirts. You should see what 12 toddlers in giant t-shirts look like all gathered around the table. Its pretty hysterical.

Got Game

Connor is doing really, really well at basketball. He's frustrated because his team kind of sucks, but he's grown so much as a player since last year. He really looks natural out there. He drives right into traffic and doesn't hesitate. Its very cool to see. And he has a layup now!

Happy Birthday, Dianna!

Tomorrow is my 45th birthday so I hunted through the piles of photos and I only really have these two from my babyhood.

I'm pretty little in this first one.   The couch pattern is classic, isn't it?  We had that sofabed in our basement for years.  I remember it as being pretty comfortable!  I'm all baby face scrunched up here.  Nothing is written on the back and it has no date.

This next one has a companion somewhere in which they have actually placed a cigarette and a martini glass in my little hands.  My Dad is looking tan and handsome and that's my Mom's graceful hand.  The back of the photo, in my mother's writing, says "Dianna, the young chunk".  (What the hell?) Then, in big black marker, in my sister's writing it says "Daddy and Mom and Michelle".  WRONG.  The photo is develop dated as July, 1967 so its definitely me.  She must have been going through a phase where she wanted to eliminate any photographic record of me.  :)
